Sea anchoring // Day 4
Shaun made some real positive progress eastward yesterday and last night. He is sitting on the edge of two eastward moving eddies that will push him further eastward. As at 8am this morning he was 120 nautical miles from Coff’s Harbour and roughly 100 nautical miles off the nearest coast which happens to be Forster, the spot where the Australian kayakers left from in 2008.
Last night he experienced some pretty big seas but slept well. At one stage he woke up and looked out his window only to sea water, so he was unsure whether he had half rolled or was swamped by a wave. This morning he woke to un-rowable conditions but the boat is still in perfect working order. He will have to spend the day in his cabin with the sea anchor deployed, and is thinking about redecorating, sleeping and maybe watching a movie.
Last night Shaun was quite excited to explain that the boats plumbing passed its first ‘test’ however the swells made things rather tricky!
Keep the support coming, he really appreciates hearing about the facebook posts, emails, blogs and tweets.

Best wishes Quincey from Me, Jane and all of the Sharpe whanau. Thanks for enduring many sleepless nights to send us big waves at Piha!

Ace work, great to see your progress on the tracker and to here the plumbing works. It would take ages to get a tradie to come and take a look at your plumbing if it was stuffed. stress less & cheers Maccas

Hope this comment reaches you Shaun but every night when I wake in the night the first thing I think of is you bobbing around out there and both Andrew and I constantly check now how you are going. Hope you remember the home port welcome when the going gets tougher. Well done for working the dream. The
