I read my new copy of New Zealand Geographic…with you and your
task on the front cover. So I too am now online following your progress. I was astonished about the comment “more men have been
in space than have crossed our oceans”. Momumental stuff..all the best to the finish line.
    Andrea, Vienna Austria

  5. Dan near Toronto says:

OMG Shaun…I just noticed in the new pic, that you still have the dock line tied onto the stern…CUT THAT LINE, before somebody yanks you all the way back to OZ…lol.
You’re doin’ great man. But ya gotta sit down to row that thing…not stand like in the pic…hehe.

  6. Emma Lattey says:

Not far to go now Q! Hope to see you very soon mate. So proud!

Hi Shaun, I am going marlin fishing off New Plymouth this weekend so will be thinking of you as I venture out your way.Keep up the great work.

  8. Natalie Oborn says:

Hey Shaun!!! Home stretch mate keep it up!! I was day dreaming ways NZ could make you an iconic figure. First one, TGS should name their next rowing boat after you, Second McD’s should make a special Mc Quincey burger it would be big and meaty like you. Have you started looking like Tom Hanks in Castaway yet?? At least you have clean teeth!!! Row hard, see you soon!!! Nat xx

  9. Jeff Rowe says:

Hey Quincy, your up on the shallower continental shelf now with a feisty breeze behind you, hope you will be less affected by currents and the run into NZ is fast. Go for it man. They have changed your icon on the TracPlus website to a two man canoe, hope you haven’t go someone stowed away on the boat… LOL… Good luck and hoping for a safe finale. Jeff

  10. Hamish Allison says:

Good to see you’re able to stand, but would have liked a picture of you looking up and smiling.
Did you realise the kayak on your google map now has two people in it ….. I liked the previous one better as it was more animated. Sorry to complain, but you are getting closer to NZ now and there might not be time to complain later.
It appears you are heading for the same landing place as James and Justin. Does that mean, if I put a bottle in the water here in Oz, it will float across and also land at New Plymouth?
Keep paddlin’, keep strong in mind and body, glad you now have more drinking water
    Barby and family

  12. Graeme Lee says:

    Hey big Q dog,

Great to see you on TV last night. A little bit of water will be handy for the tail end of your journey.

Don’t forget the tougher something is the sweeter the victory.

keep your head up, it’ll help you see where your going.

    See ya soon.

  13. Hey Shaun, that’s great news you have some more fresh water on board. Whew! We can all rest a little easier now, knowing that you at least have enough water to continue. Stay strong and stay safe mate. Pavlo, South Australia.
