Sea to Summit is a Perth based designer of quality adventure gear that is now celebrating twenty years of award winning innovations. Now available In 35 countries, the Sea to Summit heritage is one of adventure and risk and that is what appealed to us when Shaun decided to undertake his mission to row the Tasman. We thought he’d get wet, exposed by the sun, cold & hungry and so we sent him some of our trusty dry-bags,
lightweight towels, Mullet Cap & a Reactor sleeping liner to help keep warm at night. As we are also a distributor for 29 brands in Australia we were able to partner up with Backcountry Cuisine (from Invercargill) for some good old Southland made freeze-dried delights and a Jetboil stove from the USA to keep those brews brewing day & night.
Sold in over 35 countries, Sea to Summit has been awarded industry design and media awards both at home and abroad. But gaining international recognition has not however compromised the original ethos of the company. In 2010 – the 20th year anniversary – Sea to Summit will launch the unique Travelling Light range, as well as the world’s lightest warmth-to-weight ratio sleeping bag. We also hope to paddle, climb, hike and ski to some great spots around the world.
All of this has been made possible by the support of the retailers who have stocked Sea to Summit for the past two decades. We hope to return that support by continuing to make products which are profitable on the retail floor and by providing a customer service that helps your business run smoothly. Reliable well-packaged product, attractive retail prices, key retailer margins, consistent stock levels and fast delivery times are all part of the goals we set ourselves at Sea to Summit.
When financial times are as fickle as some of those Eighties’ fashion fads, it is worth remembering that outdoor people will always find escape in the outdoors. To be part of this industry is a not only a privilege, it is a way of life. Long may it continue.
